The artificial propagation and observation of embryonic development in Xingkai lake topmouth culter Erythroculter ilishaeformis farmed in a pond

Abstract: Xingkai lake topmouth cuher Erythroculter ilishaefo means of hormonal injection and the embryonic development was rmis farmed in a pond was induced to spawn by observed successively. It was found that (92. 32 ± 3.86) % of spawning rate was observed in the injection of the mixture of LRH - A2, HCG and DOM. The best incubation appeared in the aquaria with bottom - aeration, with fertilization of ( 85.69 ± 2. 52) %, hatching rate of ( 84. 63 ± 3.49 ) % and deformity of ( 1.42 ± 0. 61 ) %. The embryonic development, similar to silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix), can be divided into to 22 periods. The embryo hatched 24. 32 hours after fertilization with accumulative temperature of 632. 32 ℃ and the larvae began feeding 82 hours after newly hatched, accumulative temperature of 2132 ℃ at water temperature of (26±0. 5)℃. The mature semi -pelagic eggs were light yellow - green or blue -brown in color with (1.16 ±0. 13) mm in diameter, and grew to (4. 15 ±0. 32) mm after hydration. The newly hatched larvae had total length of ( 3.84 ± 0. 48) mm and reached (5.48 ± 0.23 ) mm after initial feeding.
