Abstract: The pathoanatomy and histopathology were investigated in 9 samples(41 individuals)of cultured hybrid sturgeon suffered from hepatocirrhosis collected from flowingwater sturgeon farms in order to evaluate the pathological changes and pathogenesis of hepatocirrhosis in farmed Chinese sturgeonAcipensersinensis.Itwas that therewere obvious pathological changes in liver including fiber diffusion, hyperplasia, and atypical hepatic fibrosis in No.1, No.2,No.3,and No.9 samples. The splenic hyperemia, vacuolar degeneration, and necrosis, stomach and intestinal hyperemia, inflammatory cell infiltration, and necrosis of the intestinal villi, even shedding, were also observed, with slight congestion and inflammation in other organs tissues(gill and heart).Based on the organ symptoms and tissue lesion, the case for sturgeon liver diseasewas considered as sturgeon hepatocirrhosis. The findings indicate that sturgeon hepatocirrhosis is characterized by liver congestion and ulcer, liver ascites, liver blood sinus dilation, inflammatory cell infiltration, tissue degeneration and tissue fibrosis.
