Abstract: Histopathological changes in ovate pompano Trachinotus ovatus infected with Vibrio damsela and Vibrio vulnificus were observed. The gills, livers, spleens, intestines, stomaches and kidneys were found to be severely affected by both Vibrio damsela and Vibrio vulnificus with similar histopathological characteristics to some extent. The gills were severely damaged : proliferation and fusion of the branchial epithelial cells as a cudgel. Some of the hepatic tissue, and degeneration and necrosis of hepatic cells. The gastric mucosa, intestinal mucosa, renal glomerulus, renal tubules and renal interstitium were degenerated and necrosised. The spleens and kidneys were haemorrhaged.
