Abstract: Growth was measured at 150,240 and 360 days after hatching among 9 families of gynogenetic Japamese flounder Paralichthys olivaceus.Variance analysis of the body weight(W),body length(L),absolute growth rate in body weight(AGRw),absolute growth rate in body length(AGRl),the proportion of head length to body length(LH/L) and the proportion of caudal peduncle length to caudal peduncle depth(LCP/DCP) were conducted, and regression equation of W and L were established. It was found that the fish in family C11847 had significant predominant in terms of W,L,LH/L and LCP/DCP,indicating that it can be taken as an important family for an intensive selection.Different families were found to perform well on AGRw and AGRl at different developmental stages, and the growth difference among families occurred mainly before 240 days.Phenotypic correlations were significantly negative between W and LH/L,and between W and LCP/DCP(P〈0.01) at each day-age.There were significant differences in LH/L and LCP/DCP among different day-ages(P〈0.05).The interrelationship between W and L in gynogenetic Japanese flounder was showed as a curve regression, without significant differences among different day-ages(P 〉0.05).
