Abstract: Cleavage, blastula and gastrula were separated from matured Chinese mitten crab and incubated in vitro. The results showed that the hatching rate, varying from 42.16% to 54.90%, was no significant difference (P〉0.05 ), even though there was an in increase in hatching rate with the embryonic development (eyed stage, 68.95%±5.89%; heart beating stage, 77.47%±5.45%). The metamorphosis of the larvae from the stages above was the same, indicating that this is feasible for efficient commercial larva production.
