Abstract: A feeding trial with one-year old Cyprinus carpio L. was conducted to study the influence of dietary olaquindox (0, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200 mg/kg) on activities of protease, amylase and lipase, phagocytic index and phagocytic rate of leucocytes and ratio of head kidney weight to body weight. Bloods were sampled from 4-5 fish in each treatment and determined for the blood values at the end of week 3, week 6, week 9 and week 12. The results showed that protease activity was induced at a dose of 100 mg/kg feed of olaquindox, but suppressed over the dose of 1600 mg/kg feed. Amylase activity was elevated with olaquindox treated groups. Lipase activity increased at low-mid doses of olaquindox in the early period of the experiment, but decreased at high dosages of olaquindox in the later period of the experiment. There were no significant difference in phagocytic index and phagocytic rate of leucocytes and ratio of head kidney weight to body weight between olaquindox-treated groups and the control group, suggesting that olaquindox can affect markedly digestive enzyme activities, and that does not have impacts non-specific immunological function and growth of immune organ in common carp.
