Abstract: Age and growth were investigated in cultured reeves' turtle Chinemys reebesii Gray at natural temperature in Guangdong Province. The results indicated that the turtle had a growth curve of W=10.194e~(1.716A)(r=0.9819). There were significant relationships among age (A), weight (W), carapace length (L_(1)), carapace width (L_(2)), body height (H), plastron length (L_(3)) and plastron width (L_(4)), which were W =10.194e~(1.716A),r=0.9819; L_(1 )= 3.506A-0.696,r=0.9953; L_(2 )= 2.182A+0.274,r=0.9970;H = 1.429A+0.097,r=0.9970; L_(3 )= 3.4525A+2.1779,r=0.9959;L_4= 1.557A+1.2609,r=0.9971; W=0.3063L~(2.7626)_1,r=0.9998, P<0.001;W=0.3439L_2~(3.201),r=0.9999, P<0.001; W=1.6148H~(3.1172),r=0.9999, P<0.001; W = 0.4934L_3~(2.6431),r=0.9998,P<0.001; W= 2.0671L~(2.9558)_4,r=0.9995, P<0.001; L_1= 1.0366L_(3)+0.3348,r=0.9999,P<0.001. The turtle had different growth rates at different ages with high relative growth at 0~(+)-1~(+) and 1~(+)-2~(+) year old, increasing by 76% and 47% in body weight. The turtle had good absolute growth at 3~(+) -4~(+) year old in body weight. There was high instant absolute growth in a carapace, plastron and body height at 1~(+)-2~(+) and 3~(+) -4~(+) year old.
