Abstract: The population structure of zooplankton was investigated at Daxingkai Lake in May, July and September 2001. There were 32 species of zooplankton, in which rotifera (43.8%), protozoa (31.2%), cladocera and copepoda (25% ) were of the predominate. The biomass of zooplankton reached 3.2377mg/L, copepoda accounting for 78.6%, and the abundance of zooplankton was 3601 ind./L, including the predominate protozoa of 79.9%, indicating that there are a few zooplankton species such as Askenasia sp., Difflugia sp., Keratella valga and Cyclops strenuous in Daxingkai Lake. The diversity index was the maximuns in Summer, and the minimum in Autumn.
