Abstract: The contents of elements (Ca,Mg,Fe,Zn,Mn,Cu) and protein in gonad and shell of the sea urchin \%Strongylocentrotus intermedius\% and its diets were determined. It was found that macroelement magnesium level was 1 5~3 times higher than calcium level in gonad. In shell, however, the content of calcium was about 20 times higher than that of magnesium. The concentration of trace elements in gonad was \%w\%(Zn)>\%w\%(Fe)>\%w\%(Cu)>\%w\%(Mn), and in shell \%w\%(Fe)>\%w\%(Zn)>\%w\%(Mn)>\%w\%(Cu) in proper order. There was no significant differences in the contents of element between gonad and shell of sea urchin and its diets Furthermore, for gonad development, formulated feeds were obviously better than the kelp which, in turn, was slightly better than the formulated feeds for shell growth.
