Abstract: In this study, expressions of anti-Müllerian hormone(AMH)in kidney, brain, heart, spleen, liver, testis and ovary were investigated in different developmental stages in redfin puffer Takifugu rubripes including 23,30,40,60,and 80 days old,and 2,and 3 years old individuals by fluorescence quantitative Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction(qRT-PCR).The results showed that there was very significantly higher expression of amh gene in spleen, kidney and liver than that in other organs(P<0.01),very significantly higher in testis than that in ovary and brain, the maximal in spleen, and the minimal in brain(P<0.01).There was very significantly higher expression level of amh gene in male redfin puffer with 23 and 30 days old,and 2 and 3 years old than that in female individuals(P<0.01).In the 60 days and 80 days old individuals, however, the female had significantly higher expression level of amh gene than the male did(P<0.05).No significant difference in expression level of amh gene was observed between males and females in 40 days old individuals(P>0.05).The 3 years old redfin puffer showed significantly higher expression of amh gene than the 2 years old one did(P<0.05).The amh gene expression level in males was increased from 23 days old to 30 days old,the maximal in the 30 days old indivduals, and then decreased in later stages, while the amh gene gene expression level in females was increased from 23 days old to 80 days old and subsequently was decreased in later stages. The findings indicate that amh gene may play an important role in gonadal development and sex differentiation in redfin puffer.
