Abstract: In the paper, the gametogenesis in sluge worm Perinereis aibuhitensis was histologically studied, cytological characteristics was described in each developmental stage in detail. The germ cells originated and the from the coelomic epithelia, and were shed into the coelom after began and completed maturation in the coelomic fluid. Four successive phases of an oocyte were described as Oogenium, Primary oocyte, Secondary oocyte, and Sexual maturation oocyte during the growth and development. The development of the testis was divided into five stages depending on the morphological characteristics: Spermatocyte stage, Primary spermatocyte stage, Secondary spermatocyte stage, Spermatic stage and Sperm stage. The results were important for the study of reproductive biology in poly- chaetc and artificial breeding.
