Abstract: Addressed rates, condition factors, hepatosomatic indexes and approximate compositions of muscles were analyzed to appraise and compare the nutritive value of emperor snapper ( Lutjanus sebae), red snapper (L. erythopterus) and silver snapper (L. argentimaculatus). The results showed that the addressed rates and condition factors of emperor snapper, red snapper and silver snapper were 61.80%, 68.00% ,57.75% and 2.65, 2.83, 2.31, respectively. The addressed rate, condition factor and the contents of crude protein, and fat in muscle were higher in red snapper than those in other species. There were no significant difference in hepatosomatic indexes in three species. Emperor snapper increased addressed rates and contents of crude protein and fat of muscles with development, while the condition factors, hepatosomatic indexs and contents of moisture and ash decreased with the development of the fish.
