Abstract: Under pilot scale conditions, Haliotis discus hannai Ino culture water quality and survival rates of the larvae in intermittent running water, Ulva pertusa treated and ozonetreated circulating water groups compared to control group of no water exchange, respectively. We set two conditions as 729 g/m3 larvae density with 708 g/m3 Ulve pertusa added or 972 g/m3 density with 0.417 mg/(h·L) ozone added for 2 h, and both made the systems function well for 5 d without water exchange. In Ulve pertusa system, the concentrations of total ammonia nitrogen(TAN), NO-2-N and CODCr averaged 0.213±0.038, 0.160±0.073 and 7.45±5.53 mg/L and the removal efficiencies of them were 96.4%, 51.8% and 22.3%, respectively. In ozone system, the concentrations of TAN, NO-2 and CODCr averaged 0.240±0.074, 0.188±0.130 and 7.45±4.25 mg/L and the removal efficiencies of them were 113.6%, 35.4% and 31.1%, respectively. The survival rates of the larvae were 90%, 89% and 90% respectively in above three tested groups after 18 day feeding.
