Abstract: The oxygen consumption(Y) , expressed by mg/fish·h, increases gradually withincrease in body weight(X) as the equation Y = 0. 3539X0.5646. The oxygen consumption rate, measured in mg/ (g·h) , decreases gradually with increase in body weight and was shown by Y= 0.3519X-0.4340. There are effects of water temperature and water flow on oxygen consump-tion. The oxygen consumption rate increases with the increase in temperature in certain range ofwater temperature, Y= 0.0038X1.2711; The oxygen consumption rate increases with the increasein water flow in certain range of flow,Y=0.0012X0.5086. There is a significant rhythm in oxy-gen consumption in day and night. Average oxygen consumption is greater in day than that atnight.
