Abstract: The morphological characteristics of hemocytes in peripheral blood were investigated in hybrid sturgeon (Husodauricus♀×Acipenserschrenckii♂) by Wright staining method. The results showed that the peripheral hematocytes of the hybrid sturgeon were composed of erythrocytes as the most abundant hematocytes, leukocytes, and thrombocytes as the secondary abundant hematocytes, with the least islandphils and without basophils. The monocytes had mean size of (18.9±1.7)μm in length×(16.8±1.7)μm in width, and the thrombocytes as the smallest blood cell with a mean size of (8.2±1.2)μm×(6.5±1.3)μm did not appear alone. The findings enriching contents of fish hematology provide the basic data for the classification of fish blood cells and offer the basic information on study of fish pathology and immunity.
