Abstract: The intestinal microflora and nonspecific immune indexes were investigated in juvenile Jian common carp Cyprinus carpio var.Jian with body weight of(40.0±0.5)g fed diets containing various levels of lentinan(0, 0.8,1.2,1.6,2.0,and 2.4 g/kg diet)for 49 days. The results showed that the leukocyte bactericidal index and serum lysozyme activity were found very significant increase compared with the control group(P<0.01).There were significantly more Lactobacilli and Bifidobacterium in the foregut, midgut and hindgut in the fish fed the diet containing lentinan up to 1.6 g/kg diet compared with the fish in the control group, the maximum in the fish fed the diet containing lentinan at a dose of 2.4 g/kg diet.On the other hand,Escherichia coli and Aeromonas hydrophila in the foregut, midgut and hindgut was found to be significantly decreased(P<0.01)in number, with the optimal effective concentration of 2.0 g/kg,and 2.4 g/kg,respectively.
