Abstract: Degeneration of alimentary tract and respiratory tree occurred in sea cucumber(Apostichopus japonicus ) under the cultural temperature of 20℃, and 25℃ The whole process of aestivation was divided into 3 stages: early stage, middle stage and later stage basis on the characteristics of shapes and the histological changes. In the first stage, the sea cucumber still fed, but had gradual thin alimentary tract, and its structure was in degeneration. In middle stage, the feeding activity of the sea cucumber became weak, and the alimentary tract was in atrophied obviously. More significant degeneration was observed in the structure of the alimentary tract. In the later stage,stopping feeding occurred in the sea cucumber whose alimentary tract was threadlike in shape and the tissue degenerated significantly. There was weaker degeneration in respiratory trees only shrinking in size than that in the alimentary tract.
