Ecological rotation culture technique in net pen in East Taihu

Abstract: In East Taihu Lake the pen alternative culture was carried and annual average yield was 4 775.56 kg/hm^2, with the net profit of 20 411.55 RMB/hm^2, and net profit margin of 46.43 percent. The ratios of input to output of nitrogen and phosphorus were 1 : 1.58 and 1 : 1.56, respectively. During the whole growing season, the input of nitrogen and phosphorus were less than the output. Compared with the monocuhure, this model could make full use of resources of aquatic vegetation and benthos in the farming area and accelerate the regeneration of feedstuff resources. Also, it could give benefit to the vegetation protection in the lake and reduce the load of nitrogen and phosphorus significantly. So, it has the advantages of high economical and ecological effects.
