Abstract: Esterase isoenzyme (EST) and malate dehydrogenase isoenzyme (MDH) were analyzed in three tissues (muscle, hepatopancreas and intestine)in white-leg shrimp (Penaeus vannamei) injected with different concentrations of pyrethrin pesticide by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE). The results showed that the significant variations were observed in the isozyme bands of the shrimp injected with the pesticide at various dosages, and specific distinctions in the tissues. There was complicated change in the EST bands and stable in the MDH because the bonding point of the pesticides were different. The shrimp stressed by pesticides had high anaerobic metabolism and low aerobic metabolism, which results in decline in resistance to exotic environment and in the immunity.
