Abstract: The animals and plants growth and development can be affected by electric field, this phenomenon is called electric field biological effect. Up to now, the mechanism of biological effect by electric field is not clear. In this paper, using the liquid crystal biological membrane model and its consecutive elastic theory, we have got a electric field intensity threshold, and have given the physical mechanism of liquid crystal biological membrane affected by electric field in the theory. Finally, the characteristic of electric biological effects is explained.
