Abstract: Shelling is one of the primary technical challenges in intensive shrimp process, and the shrimp shelling machines used nowadays are often characterized by some disadvantages including low shelling rate, high crushed rate, and poor stability. A new unequal diameter twin roll shrimp shelling machine is developed based on principle of friction and extrusion. The new shelling machine consists of feeding, shelling, and shrimp-shelled and headed separating mechanisms. The trials showed that the shrimp sheller effectively made a continuous operation of “feeding—shelling-free-head shelled shrimp separating” under given parameters.
