Abstract: The gonadal development in culturedMystusguttatuswas histologically studied by paraffin section technique. The results showed that the cultured fish had maturity at two years old, and spawned from June to August per year, only once a year. The ovary was developed non-synchronously, different developmental oocytes in the same stage. The gonado-somatic index (GSI) of (1.28±0.12)% was observed in the females at reproductive seasons. The testis had slender shape and developed well. Various developmental spermatozoa were observed clearly, with GSI of (0.11±0.04)% in the male.
