1. Aims and Scope
Journal of Dalian Ocean University is an international journal publishing original research papers, short communications and review papers on all aspects of marine, aquaculture and related disciplines. The Journal covers topics such as the aquatic biology, biotechnology, aquaculture and disease control, marine ecology and environment, marine fishery, fishery resources, fishery fishing, aquatic products processing, fishery machinery, navigation technology and marine engineering management, fishing vessel design and manufacture, and more.
2. Submission method
Submission to Journal of Dalian Ocean University proceeds totally online. You can submit your article and check the status of manuscript submitted via http://xuebao.dlou.edu.cn or http://dlsc.cbpt.cnki.net.
The first decision on the submission will be made about three months from the date of submission. Publication process of an accepted submission will take 9—11 months from the date of submission. According to the copyright agreement, all accepted submissions will be published online first.

4. Fees
●Subscription: ￥20 RMB/issue ; ￥120 RMB/year
●Review fee: The published article will be charged ￥200 RMB; unaccepted article will not be charged.
●Layout charge: ￥300 RMB/page; extra ￥700 RMB/page for colored page.
●Author’s remuneration: ￥75 RMB/page and four copies of the journal.
5. Identification and treatment of academic misconduct
(1) Identification and treatment of academic misconduct
● To verify originality, your article may be checked by the originality detection service AMLCbeta (Academic Misconduct Literature Check; https://check.cnki.net/amlc/).
The score of similarity with previous publications should be less than 15%. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is strictly forbidden.
● Cases of plagiarism of the researcher’s views, data, and experimental process will be considered as academic misconduct in the process of peer review.
● Cases of fabrication of test data, forgery of test charts, fabrication of test conclusions and others will be considered as academic misconduct in the process of publishing.
(2) Treatment of academic misconduct
● If any form of academic misconduct was verified, the author(s) will be banned contributing to the journal within 3 years.
● If any form of academic misconduct was verified in the published article, the editor office will explain the situation to each database. Correction, clarification or withdrawal of the online version of the journal will be made in time. Meanwhile, the editor office will issue a statement and apologize in the latest issue of the journal.
● If any form of serious academic misconduct (such as plagiarism or plagiarize others’ research results) was verified, the editor office will blacklist the author(s) and notify author unit.
6. Copyright transfer and the third party responsibility
(1) Copyright transfer
Upon the acceptance of the article, the author(s) will be asked to sign a “Copyright transfer statement” (see more information below). The copyright to this article is transferred to Journal of Dalian Ocean University effective upon the signing of this statement. The copyright transfer covers the exclusive right and licenses to reproduce, publish, distribute and archive the article in all forms and media now known or developed in the future, including reprints, translations, photographic reproductions, microform, electronic form (offline, online) or any other reproductions of similar nature. Permission of the editor office of Journal of Dalian Ocean University is required for resale or distribution outside the institution and for all other derivative works. The author(s) of the article does not have the unlimited rights, the editor office of Journal of Dalian Ocean University is responsible for the interpretation of author(s)’ rights.

7. Manuscript processing process
● Editor’s initial evaluation of manuscript: After manuscript submission, the executive editor makes an initial evaluation of the paper to check whether the manuscript meets the requirements of the journal.
● Peer review: The peer review experts are responsible for the scientific evaluation of the manuscripts and recommendation suggestions for further processing of the manuscript (reject or revise).
● Editorial comprehensive evaluation: The editorial office makes a comprehensive evaluation of the paper based on peer review recommendations and decide whether to reject it or to re-evaluation.
● Decision of editor-in-chief: The manuscript approved by the deputy editor is sent to the editor-in-chief and a final decision will be made after the final review of the editor-in-chief.
8. Acceptance criteria for Manuscripts
● Manuscripts submitted should be novelty and reflect the frontier academic research results of the discipline (or industry).
● Manuscripts submitted should have clear arguments supporting with sufficient details and reliable data. The writing of a submitted manuscript should be refined and concise.
● Manuscripts submitted should be scientific and logical.
● Tables and figures should be accurate and clear with the correct resolution.
● Any form of academic misconduct and multiple submissions are strictly forbidden.
9. Manuscript requirements and Cautions
(1) In order to promote the communication of scientific information, Journal of Dalian Ocean University has been full text included by several data bases including China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), China Science Periodical Database (Wangfang Data), VIP Journal integration Platform (VJIP), Superstar Journals Database, and Sciencepaper Online. The editor office has authorized the above database to reproduce, compile, distribute and disseminate the full text of the journal digitally. The author’s copyright royalties will be paid together with the author’s remuneration. If the author(s) disagreed, please do not submit.
(2) The manuscript should include abstract in both Chinese and English; keywords, table titles, figure legends and axes should be presented. The national System of Units (SI) must be complied.
(3) Line charts should be drawn by computer, all characters in figure should be font No. 6 in size; photographs should be clear and well-organized.
(4) Main references should be mentioned in the Reference List. Non-English references gives the corresponding English references. References should be coded sequentially with Arabic numerals in order of occurrence marking with square brackets in the upper right corner. According to rules for description of references after text (GB/T 7714 – 2015), the description format of reference citation is as follows:
a.Serial publications:For single or two author(s): the author(s)’ name. Title [J]. name of journal (The names of foreign journals can be abbreviated without abbreviations), year of publication, volume (issue): page number.
For three or more authors: the first three authors’ names followed by “et al. ” Title [J]. name of journal (The names of foreign journals can be abbreviated without abbreviations), year of publication, volume (issue): page number.
b.Book references: the author(s)’ name. Book Title [M]. Place of publication: publisher, year of publication: page number.
c.References from a book: the author(s)’ name of the references. Title of the reference[document type identifier]//principal responsible persons of the book. Place of publication: publisher, year of publication: page number.
d.Thesis references: author name. The title of the thesis[D]. Archiving place: archiving organization, year.
e.Web references: author names. Title: other information of the title[document type identifier/document carrier identifier].publication place：publisher，year of publication（dates for updating or modification）[date of citation]. The accessing path.

(5) Please indicate the name and project number of the funded project or scientific research project at the bottom of the first page. Please specify the gender, year of birth, education background, title and E-mail of the first author and corresponding author.
(6) If the manuscripts do not meet the requirements of the journal, the editorial office has the right to propose amendments to the manuscripts and require the author to modify or rewrite.
10. Archiving
Under normal circumstances, the journal will be published periodically, if unexpected events occurred stopping the publishing, please visit the website of Dalian Ocean University to download the electronic backup of the journal for free.
All papers published by this journal since its inception in 1980 are published on the website.
