Abstract The complement hemolytic activity was reported in the coelomic fluid of sea cucumber Apostichopus japonicus, a rate of (68.8 ± 13.5) U/mL. The ACHso assay revealed that the optimum conditions for the complement hemolytic activity in the coelomic fluid were as the following- pH 7.5,8 mmol/L Mg^2+ EGTA - Mg - GVB buffer, at 20 ℃ and reaction period of 90 min. The haemolytic activity was affected by Mg^2+ and inhibited by zymosan, methylamine, hydrazine and PMSF.
