The effect of the metal nanoparticles(Fe/Ni)on growth in algaChlorella pyrenoidosa

Abstract: The effect of the metal nanoparticles(Fe and Ni)on growth in alga Chlorella pyrenoidosa was studied to evaluate bio-security of the nanomaterials.The results showed that the biomass of the alga was reduced by the both metal nanoparticles which entered into the cells,and caused the cells deformation and damage in structure.The metals were absorbed by the cell surface and led to the alga aggregation.Thus,it is concluded that the metals are toxic to Chlorella pyrenoidosa.
