Abstract: An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to study the effects of lysolecithin on growth performance, body composition and hematological indices in hybrid tilapia(Oreochromis aureus ♂×Oreochromis niloticus ♀).A total of 360 tilapia with an average body weight of(5.35±0.02)g was randomly allocated into 12 tanks at a rate of 30 per tank and fed 2 experimental diets containing 0.0125%(A),and 0.025%(B) lysolecithin and 1 basal diet as the control. There were significantly higher relative weight gain ratio and specific growth rate in group A and B(P〈0.05) than those in the the control group, and feed coefficient and protein efficiency ratio were improved in group B.Supplementation of lysolecithin in the diets did not significantly affect the fish body protein, lipid, ash, and moisture contents and hepatosomatic index and intraperitoneal fat ratio, while viscerosomatic index increased significantly(P〈0.05) compared with the control group. The concentration of the blood cholesterol in group B was found to be significantly higher than that in the control group and group A.However, the levels of blood triglyceride,high-density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein were not significantly affected by the supplementation of dietary lysolecithin. In conclusion, the growth performance and nutritional utilization rate were improved by supplementation of dietary lysolecithin in tilapia, without significant difference in the body composition.
