Abstract: The concept of safety assessment including macro and micro safety evaluation is put forward to fully understanding of safety situation in Chinese fishing vessels.The current research situation of fishing vessel safety in domestic and abroad is summarized,and the assessment index system is put forward in safety technology condition offishing vessels.The safety evaluation criteria are discussed for each index,thereby forming a comprehensive evaluation system of safety for fishing vessels.The system was applied to assessment the safety condition of sample fishing vessels,and theresults are the same basically with expert judgments,indicating that this system is helpful for the competent authority and related researchers.
