Abstract: A total of 360 crucian carp Carassius auratus gibelio juveniles with an average initial were randomly allocated to 3 treatments at a rate of 40 fish/tant with triplication. Changes in th body weight of 50 g e number of bacterium Bdellovibrio were determined in the intestinal tract of the crucian carp fed the experimental diets containing Bdellovibrio sp. Bdh5221 0 ( control ), 10^4 CFU/g and 10^7 CFU/g 7, 14, 21, and 28 days after administration. The effects of Bdellovibrio sp. Bdh5221 on the intestinal microflora and serum non -sepcific immune indices in the crucian carp were measured 28 days after administration when the number of BdeUovibrio in intestinal tract in the two bacteriim supplementation groups was found to be stable. There was significant decrease in the number of Aeromona, and Enterobacteriaceae in 10^4 CFU/g and 10^7 CFU/g supplementation groups (P 〈 0. 05) compared with the control group. The number of Bacillus acidilactici were significandy promoted( P 〈0. 01 ) compared with the control group. Expect for superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in 10^4 CFU/g supplementation group, activities of other enzymes including alkaline phosphatase ( AKP), acid phosphatase ( ACP), lysozyme, and phenoloxidase (PO) in 10^4 CFU/g and 107 CFU/g supplementation groups were significantly increased (P 〈 0. 05 ) or very significantly promoted (P 〈0. 01 ) compared with the control group, indicating that the dietary Bdellovibrio sp. Bdh5221 had good ability to optimize the intestinal microflora and to improve the enzymatic activities related to immunity.
