Abstract: The effects of changes in water temperature on habitat of Jumbo flying squidDosidicusgigasoff the coast of Peru were studied based on the production data of squid jigging vessel of China off the coast of Peru in the years of 2006—2011,combining with surface temperature data of observing and satellite remote sensing and using Suitability Index Model depending on work times and catch per unit effort(CPUE)in order to get the suitable temperature index and to predicte the change in temperature impact on habitats of Jumbo flying squid. The results showed that the habitats of Jumbo flying squid weremoved from west to east in horizontal and from north to south in vertical with the warming sea temperature. The suitable temperature index in themonth of high production was observed at water temperature of 19℃.The production of Jumbo flying squid was drawdown when the phenomenon of El Ni?o happened, and the production was increased when the phenomenon of La Ni?a was found.
