Abstract: Themetaphase chromosome spreadingwas conducted in gills and fins cells of sailfinmolly Poecilia latipinna by colchicine-low concentration-hot film drops, and Ag-NORs were analyzed to obtain cytogenetic data of sailfin molly. The results showed that the karyotype of sailfin molly composed of 2n=46t,NF=46.Ag-NORswere found on the end of chromosome No.2 and chromosome No.9,and the Ag-NORs polymorphismswere individually specific, while no sex chromosome was observed in this fish. The findingswill provide reference to genetic pattern of sailfinmolly.
