Abstract: The correlation of shrimp yield and releasing amount, frequency calculation of shrimp body length and body weight, changes in relative importance index (IRI), and recapture rate were analyzed and economic benefits were evaluated, based on the monitoring and recapture survey of the shrimp from 2014 to 2017 and annual releasing quantity from 1985 to 2017 to evaluate the enhancement effect of Chinese shrimp Fenneropenaeuschinensis in Northern Yellow Sea. The results showed that there was a positive correlation between the yield and the number of releasing of Chinese shrimp, with Chinese shrimp IRI of 573.3 in 2014, 48.1 in 2015, 205.1 in 2016, and 789.9 in 2017, ranking 7 to 14 in the fishery resources category. A normal distribution was found in the frequency of body length and body weight, with average recapture rate of 1.98% and the input-output ratio of 0.07-0.12 from 2014 to 2017. The findings indicated that Chinese shrimp had become an important species in Northern Yellow Sea from 2014 to 2017 except 2015, showing that the enhancement and releasing of the shrimp play an important role in resource recovery and income increase in fishery, good ecological and economic benefits.
