Abstract: According to the survey data gained from May in 2007 to October in 2010,the status of marine fishery resources and ecological environment of Liaodong Bay were analyzed. The results showed that the main water quality parameters including pH,and available phosphate, etc.in the western part of Liaodong Bay met requirements for the second level of“Sea Water Quality Standard(GB3097-1997)”,that DO just reached the 4thlevel,that 42 species(including 17 fish species and 25 invertebrates)were found in Autumn, that the dominant species were Amblychaeturichthys hexanema,Synechogobius ommaturus,Cynoglossus gracilis,Oratosquilla oratoria,Asteroidea, and Palaemon gravieri and that the near-shore area was with higher the biomass of ecological density(BED)and the number of ecological density(NED)compared with the far-shore area.Considering the current status of fishery resources in Liaodong Bay,the authors put forward recommendations to improve ecological environment and to rebuild fisheries:to control sewage discharge strictly,to release and enhance fish stocks reasonably, and to make further restrictive measures on fishing activity and fishing gears.
