Abstract: In the paper analyzes the catch data of neon flying squid Ommastrephes bartramii were analyzed in the northwest Pacific Ocean in 2011 and processed according to 12 different scales. The geo-statistical method is used to calculate the spatial distribution pattern the squid abundance. The results showsed that the trends of nugget and sill value at different scales were basically consistent, but other parameters of performance were different, that semivariogram was fitted by exponential model and spherical model in the meso-scale and small scale. The range was linear distribution, and spatial auto-correlation was relatively strong, and that semivariogram was fitted by Gaussian model in large scale, the range was fluctuated, and spatial auto-correlation was relatively weak.Further, the structural characteristics of the squid stocks and marine environmental factors were analyzed together. The results indicated that the differences in spatial structure in small scale mainly reflectd inherent structural characteristics of the squid stocks, that the difference mainly reveals influences of marine environmental factors on structural characteristics of squid stocks, that the random and amplitude of variables were large in large scale, spatial autocorrelation was weak, and it was probably not suitable to study spatial distribution of the squid stocks because of too large impact of marine environmental factors on them.
