Abstract: The allelopathic effect of fresh tissue, dry powder, culture filtrate water, and water-soluble extract of sea weed Chondrus ocellatus on the growth of algae Karenia mikimotoi and Prorocentrum minimum was studied using co -culture method. The results showed that fresh tissue, dry powder and water-soluble extract of the sea weed had significant inhibition on the growth of the algae, and the fresh tissue, and dry powder had lethal effect on the algae at a higher concentration.Under a one-time and semi-continuous culture, the sea weed had significant inhibitory effect on the growth of P.minimum.There was no significant(P>0.05)inhibitory effect on the growth of K.mikimotoi in the cultivation liquid water filtration of the sea weed in the one-time mode supplemented once.In the semi -continuous mode supplementation, the growth of K.mikimotoi was found to be significant inhibition(P<0.05), indicating that the sea weed produces the degradable allelochemicals.
