Abstract: A mathematical model for fishing net was established and visualization of fishing net was carried out to simulate the dynamic behavior of a fishing net in a fishing simulator. The fishing net was divided into finite particles connecting to springs without mass, depending on lumped mass model. According to Newton's Second Law, the particle's dynamic equation was set up which took the influence of uniform current into account. In order to simulate fishing net's behavior in real - time, Newmark - β method was used to calculate the mathematical model for fishing net, which can stably take large time steps. Behaviors of a panel net and a mid - water trawl net in uniform current were simulated and a three - dimensional visualization application program had also been developed by using Open- GL library software, which validated the model's rationality.
