Abstract: In this paper, we will introduce the basic principle of lifting scheme, and present the method of construction of lifting wavelets via traditional wavelets. We use wavelet filters such as Haar, Daubechies series and B-splines to build the lifing wavelets. Lastly we apply the lifting wavelet to signal de-noising. Comparing lifting wavelets with traditional wavelets, while SNR is very similar, the numerical experimental shows that the advantage of lifting wavelets lies on its fast computation with a very simple programme.
