Abstract: The energy principle and its calculating method are introduced, and tests of thermalfatigue and high temperature low cyclic fatigue with cylindrical specimens made of 2A80 alumi-num alloy with different annular notch are made. The results show that total strain-energydensity is an efficient element for predicting fatigue life and not affected by specimens' shapeand size.
