Abstract: Grazing rate of dominant adult copepods (\%Paracalanus parvus\% and \%Oithona similis\%) was studied using light microscopy under different temperature, feed densities, and photoperiod conditions, and varied in selective proportion of different feed species\% including Nitzschia clostertum, Platymonas subcordiformis, Chlorella \%sp\%., Isochrysis galbana, \%and\% Dunaliella \%sp. at the coast of Dalian from May to June, 2000. The grazing rates between male copepods and female copepods were compared. The results indicated that there was a positive correlation between the sea water temperature and grazing rate within the proper temperature range for copepod; and there was a positive correlation between feed density and grazing rate of copepods in the proper feed density range for copepod. When the feed density exceeded the upper limit, the grazing rates decreased. Ingestion rate of the female adults of \%P.parvus\% was higher than that of the male. The grazing rate in light condition was greater than that in dark circumstances for \%O.similis\%.The main species of ingesting feed was\% Nitzschia clostertun\%, but the optimal feed for \% P.parvus\% was \%Isochrysis galbana\%, and for\% O.similis, Dunaliella \%sp. was the optimal feed.
