Abstract: A higher order shear deformation theory of composite laminates considering transverse normal stress, which fully satisfied the geometric and stress continuity conditions at interfaces, and a refined triangular element based on it are proposed. There are five unknown numbers in displacement filed same as in one order shear deformation theory. There are five unknown numbers in displacement filed same as in one order shear deformation theory. The interelement C\+1 weakcontinuity conditions can be satisfied,so that the convergence are ensured. Numerical results show that the present element has higher computational efficiency and higher accuracy.
