Abstract: The pretreatment condition was screened and optimized in analysis of content of hexanal in salted fish by headspace gas chromatography (GC). It was found that the optimal pretreatment was observed under the condition of distilled water as solvent at a rate of three times of samples, and oscillation for 30 min, at 56 ℃ for 40 min. In the hexanal determination by this detection method, the linear range was within 2-100 μg, with recovery of 89%-105%.Tests proved that the method was simple, sensitive and reproducible for determination of hexanal in salted fish by headspace GC.
