The Calculations of Cracking Strength of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete Members under Axial Tension

Abstract

Based on the axial tension test results of 40 concrete members reinforced with steel bars and fibers, the influence of the containing of steel fiber in the members is analyzed and the formula for calculating the cracking strength is derived. The results agree well with the test data. The formula presented is clear, simple in use and useful for project design.
